Course description: PhD projects offered are interdisciplinary and require students to use mathematical, computational and engineering approaches to address biological questions. Projects come from a wide range of biological scales and areas, from molecules through to cells and whole animal physiology.
Research opportunities are available in a wide range of areas including Cell Biology, Neurobiology, Immunology, Development, Physiology, Structural Biology, Chemical Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, Ageing and Evolution.
This 4-year programme is aimed at graduates with a strong interest in multi-disciplinary research. We invite applications from highly motivated students with a wide range of academic backgrounds including biological, physical, computational, engineering or mathematical disciplines.
Applicants must be confident using computers and show some evidence of numeracy (minimum GCSE mathematics or statistics or a module with a good mark in their degree).
